# Buyer introductions

> What you see when a seller accepts your request, how readiness works, and how you pay the seller's invoice.

An introduction starts when a seller accepts one of your requests, or when you win a lot. Both companies are revealed to each other. The seller contacts you, and the two companies contract and pay each other directly.

An introduction is the same record either way: the same reference, the same page, the same terms. See [Bidding](/buying/bidding).

GPU Outlet is not a party to your contract and holds no money. Buyers pay GPU Outlet nothing.

## When a seller accepts

Your company's owners and authorized signatories get the notification "A seller accepted your request", in the dashboard and by email. See [Notifications](/account/notifications).

The introduction appears at `/app/introductions`, under **Introductions** on the **Buy** menu. It also appears in the **Introductions** section of the request it came from.

Each row shows the reference (for example `GO-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXX`), the seller's legal name, the demand, the seller's country, the reveal date and the status.

## The introduction page

Open a row to reach `/app/introductions/:id`. The page has these parts.

### The seller

The seller's registered legal name and country, with the note "The seller has your contact and will reach out. Contracting and payment happen directly between the two companies."

<Note>
  You do not receive the seller's contact details. The seller receives the email addresses and roles of your company's owners and authorized signatories, and reaches out to you. Make sure those people watch their inbox.
</Note>

### Introduction

| Row | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Revealed** | When the seller accepted and both companies were revealed. |
| **Protected until** | 24 months after the reveal. The success fee applies to contracts signed before this date. |
| **Listing** | A link to the seller's listing on Radar. It is the live listing and may have changed since the reveal. |

### The demand, as frozen at reveal

Your request exactly as it stood when the seller accepted. This is the demand the introduction is about.

### Ready to proceed?

Once you and the seller have spoken and agreed to go ahead, each side confirms here. See [Confirm you are ready](#confirm-you-are-ready).

### Invoices from the seller

The seller's invoices to you, with what you can do on each. See [Pay the seller's invoice](#pay-the-sellers-invoice).

### Timeline

The timeline lists everything that happened on the introduction, newest first. Both companies see the same timeline, including the seller's success fee invoice events. Each entry shows the time and who acted: **Seller**, **Buyer**, **GPU Outlet** or **Automatic**. Press **Earlier** to see more.

## After the reveal

<Steps>
  <Step title="The seller contacts you">
    The seller reaches out to your owners or authorized signatories directly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You agree terms">
    The contract is between the two companies. GPU Outlet takes no part in it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Both sides confirm readiness">
    Each side presses **We are ready** on the introduction page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The seller sends an invoice">
    It arrives on the introduction page. You pay the seller directly and mark it paid.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The seller confirms receipt">
    The invoice shows **Received**. Nothing more is needed from you on it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Confirm you are ready

The **Ready to proceed?** section shows **You** and **The seller**, each as **Not yet** or **Ready since** a date. When both have confirmed, it shows **Both sides ready**.

Press **We are ready** once your company has agreed to go ahead.

* Each side confirms once. Confirming cannot be undone.
* "Confirming is a fact, not a contract." It does not commit either company to terms.
* The seller is notified. When the seller confirms first, you get "The other side is ready to proceed".
* The seller can send an invoice only after both sides have confirmed.

Only an owner, authorized signatory or trader can confirm readiness.

## Pay the seller's invoice

When the seller sends an invoice, you get the notification "An invoice is ready to pay". Until then the section reads "No invoice yet. The seller sends it here once you are both ready."

Each invoice shows the seller's invoice number, the amount and currency, when it was sent and, if set, its due date.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the PDF">
    Press **Open the PDF** to view the invoice the seller issued. The link works for a short time; press the button again if it expires.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pay the seller directly">
    Pay using the details on the seller's invoice. The payment goes from your company to the seller, never through GPU Outlet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Mark it paid">
    Optionally enter a **Payment reference**, up to 128 characters, so the seller can match the payment. Then press **Mark as paid**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The seller is notified that you marked it paid. When the money reaches the seller, the seller presses **Money received**. The invoice then shows **Received**, and you get "The seller confirmed your payment".

<Warning>
  Press **Mark as paid** only after you have sent the payment. The seller relies on it to look for the money.
</Warning>

### Invoice statuses

| Status | What it means for you |
| - | - |
| **Ready to pay** | "Pay the seller directly, then mark it paid here." |
| **Paid** | "You marked this paid. The seller confirms once the money arrives." |
| **Received** | The seller confirmed the money arrived. Nothing more is needed. |
| **Replaced** | "Replaced by a newer invoice." Pay the newer one instead. |
| **Withdrawn** | The seller withdrew it. The reason is shown. Talk to the seller if you already paid. |

A seller cannot edit a sent invoice. To correct one, the seller sends a new invoice, which replaces an unpaid one.

## The seller's success fee

The seller pays GPU Outlet a success fee on amounts it receives from you. That is between the seller and GPU Outlet. It does not change what you pay the seller, and you never pay it. Your timeline shows the seller's success fee invoice events, because both companies see the same timeline.
